Remembering the SeaWiFs Launch

[04-Dec-18] In 1997, scientists and engineers from Goddard Space Flight Center watch the launch of SeaWiFs, NASA's revolutionary ocean color mission and the precursor to Hawkeye. SeaWIFS (Sea-Viewing Wide Field-of-View Sensor) was active from September 1997 to December 2010, and its primary mission was to quantify chlorophyll produced by marine phytoplankton (microscopic plants).
